Mr. John Jay Manis age 74, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, January 31, 2022, in Pensacola, FL. Pensacola, FL; is where he and his sweetheart of 51 years spent much of their life doing God’s will.

Mr. Manis served the Lord above all else. He adored his wife Betty and children. He graduated from the Naval Academy class of ’70 and went on to serve 10 years as a fighter pilot in the United States Navy as well as a flight instructor in advanced jets. He was an accomplished writer a.k.a. The Great Communicator and a well-respected Real Estate Broker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen (Gloria McNeil) Manis, one daughter, Tiffany Nicole Manis, one brother, Tom Manis, and brother-in-law, Art Payne.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Betty Kelly Manis, of Pensacola, FL; one son, John Manis Jr; of Pensacola, FL; two daughters, Tracie (Christopher) Garner, of Middleburg, FL; Tanya (Jonathan) Boudrie, of Gatlinburg, TN; two brothers, Chuck (Wilene) Manis, of Ft. Worth, TX; Robert (Chris) Manis, of Dallas, TX; one sister, Susie Manis Payne, of Weston, FL; five grandchildren, Christopher, Alex, Tia, Kyle, Zach, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC Atmore, AL. Burial will follow at NAS Pensacola, Barrancas National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM at Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home LLC.
